Getting there: A walk-on ferry departs St. Marys for Cumberland twice daily. Cost: $20 adults, $14 children 12 and under, $18 seniors 65 and older. A ranger who meets the ferry gives a free tour.
Boat tours: Amelia River Cruises offers several 1 1/2 to 2-hour boat rides daily, as well as periodic special cruises, from Amelia Island, just across the border in Florida, to Cumberland Island.
